Due to a planned march and possible protests in Portland on Monday, May 1, C-TRAN Express routes will only serve a limited number of stops in the downtown area during the afternoon commute starting at 12 p.m. Routes 164 and 177 will pick up passengers at Fifth Avenue and Harrison Street. Routes 105, 134 and 199 will pick up passengers at Fifth Avenue and Hall Street. Riders using MAX to connect with C-TRAN Express routes at those locations should travel to the MAX station at Fifth Avenue and Montgomery Street before transferring. With possible protest activity throughout the afternoon, passengers should be prepared for delays and plan for extra time. Routes 157 and 190 will operate on their normal routes and schedules.
C-TRAN will continue to provide updates as needed. Passengers can sign up for direct email/text alerts or find rider alerts at www.c-tran.com. Up-to-the-minute service updates will also be provided via Twitter @ctranvancouver.
As a reminder, Express routes will also be on detour through May 20 due to major construction work on MAX tracks in the downtown area. Routes 105, 134, 164, 177 and 199 will not serve stops north of Columbia Street during the work period, and will serve stop locations on both Fifth and Sixth avenues during the morning and afternoon commutes. MAX will continue to run north of Columbia Street, but passengers should expect crowded trains and reduced frequency during the project.
More information about the impact, including a C-TRAN detour map, is available here.
Thanks, as always, for your patience.
