C-TRAN’s free Travel Training program is designed to help seniors and people with disabilities learn to use the fixed-route bus system. Riders can meet with a travel trainer to cover the basics of public transportation, or ride with a trainer on the bus. Learn how to:
- plan your trip
- pay your fare
- read and understand schedules
- recognize bus numbers, stops and landmarks
- transfer to another bus or transit system
Travel Training allows people to feel confident and comfortable using the bus system, and gain the independence that comes with transportation options.
To connect with a Travel Trainer, all you have to do is call 360-906-RIDE (7433), or send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org. There’s no eligibility requirement, and it’s completely free.
C-TRAN’s Travel Ambassador program allows riders to give back to the community and help grow public transportation in the region. Volunteer Travel Ambassadors assist C-TRAN with public outreach, community events and helps others learn to use the fixed-route bus system. To learn more about becoming a Travel Ambassador, call 360-906-RIDE (7433).
The Travel Training and Travel Ambassador programs are coordinated by Lead Travel Trainer Veronica Marti and Travel Trainer Kristi Nygaard. Hear directly from one of the people who has gained confidence and independence through Travel Training:
