Vancouver, WA: Members of the C-TRAN Board of Directors will hold on-board meetings with riders and other members of the public this summer starting this Saturday. Anyone is invited to ride with a board member to ask questions, share comments or talk transit.

On Saturday, June 16, Battle Ground City Councilor and C-TRAN board member Adrian Cortes will ride Route 7 between Battle Ground and the Vancouver Mall Transit Center. Cortes will board at Stop ID 6050 (eastbound Scotton Way and 13th Street, near the Wal-Mart) at approximately 11:49 a.m. and stay on the bus for one round trip. The bus is scheduled to arrive at the Vancouver Mall at 12:10 p.m., then return to the Battle Ground Wal-Mart at approximately 12:57 p.m. Also joining the ride will be Battle Ground Mayor Mike Dalesandro, a former C-TRAN board member.

The bus will be in regular service, so members of the public planning to join the ride should arrive at the stop at least 5 minutes early to ensure they catch it on time. People may also join the ride at other stops along the route. Fares will be required.

Saturday’s ride won’t be the last opportunity for the public to ride with a board member. C-TRAN plans to organize similar rides with other board members later this summer.

C-TRAN and other transit agencies in Washington continue to celebrate Ride Transit Month throughout the month of June. We’re celebrating the people who ride and support public transportation in this community every day, and we’re inviting non-riders to try it out and learn the many benefits that come with using transit. More information about Ride Transit Month is available at www.ridetransitmonth.org.
